Originally from Puerto Rico, Yazel moved to Texas as a teenager and stayed there until he attended the University of Houston. Yazel graduated from the University of Houston in 2019 with a B.A. in Political Science & Economics and later went on to study at the Florida State College of Law, graduating in 2022. Upon graduation, Yazel returned to the Houston area and became a licensed attorney in the State of Texas.  For over three years, Yazel worked primarily in immigration law, learning valuable skills such as communicating with clients during stressful and emotionally charged times, drafting documents with quick turnaround times, and litigating in court under tense circumstances.

Yazel has found that many of those skills are also helpful when transitioning to the family law realm. Clients often go through tumultuous times when seeking a family law attorney and need someone who can listen when they are most volatile, calmly explain the best path forward, and fight for them in court when necessary.  Yazel aims to be that someone. Yazel truly cares about families and has empathy for all clients, striving to represent them effectively. Yazel understands that every client’s situation is unique and requires an attorney with the knowledge, patience, and perseverance to handle any challenges in their case. Yazel is experienced in working on cases involving divorce, child support, modifications, property division, name changes, and other family law matters.

Yazel is fully bilingual and is always open to assisting Spanish-speaking clients upon request.
